開発で英語を書くとき、単なる「英語」でなく明確に「アメリカ英語」を使おうという意識をもって書いていて、この規約を持つようになったきっかけを長いこと忘れていたけど今思い出した。

べつに man pages がそうだからといって任意の場所で従う理由もないのだが、イギリス英語を積極的に使うべしという規約には (最初の著者がイギリス英語を使っていたという惰性による暗黙なもの以外) 今のところ遭遇したことがなく、デフォルトを切り替える理由のないままアメリカ英語優先でやってきている。
